How are cultural values influencing sexual education? We will discuss the importance of openly discussing sexuality and how to promote a healthy dialogue within family circles.

Presenter Bio

Melba Easter-Velázquez, BSW, MBA, MSOL

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, undergraduate degree in Social Work from University of Puerto Rico in Humacao. MBA and Masters in Organizational Leadership and Change Management from Colorado State University.

  • Current role: Director of Outpatient & Community Services for Griffith Centers
  • 11+ years working with at risk youth in underserved communities. Extensive experience with the juvenile delinquency, child welfare and education systems of the state of Colorado.

  • County level Collaboration Management Partnership- State initiative to prevent families & children from entering the welfare/delinquency system
  • Child Fatality Review Teams
  • Judicial District Juvenile Delinquency Boards
